Happy New Year - What's coming this semester in the Durham Maker Space

Durham Middle School
Maker Space
January 6, 2015
Happy New Year and welcome back!  The Durham Maker Space will be in full swing starting the second week of school.  The schedule will alternate – Monday group one week and Tuesday group the next week.  Also, activities are being planned in advance and we will be collecting materials for those projects.
At the end of last semester we had a donation drive and received lots of cool stuff – old electronics, scrap wood, craft supplies.  However, we are still in need of tools (screw drivers, hammers, drills, soldering irons, etc.)  If you or someone you know have extra tools they would like to donate to our space, please let me know.
There are couple of projects planned for this semester that will require students to purchase materials – between $5-$10 for the project.  I will let you know when that gets closer and will provide a description and price list of the items you will need.  You will be able to purchase them through the club or on your own.
We will also have at least one Saturday morning Maker Space that will last from 9-12.  This meeting will be open to all Maker Space Club members and Durham Students and will include speakers from our community that have cool jobs.  Stay tuned for more info.
The schedule for our meetings this semester is on the back of this page.  Please note that meeting times are subject to change.
